In 1907, investors from San Francisco, purchased a parcel of land to the west of Tacoma. They had a vision of a ‘residential park; a charming spot to raise a family and just enjoy life.’ They named the area, Regents Park, in a reference to regent’s of a university.
Take a walk through town and you will notice streets that are named after universities, like Harvard and Berkeley Avenue, which shows the investors value of a higher education. You will also notice street names influenced after their California background, like Golden Gate and Del Monte Avenue.
Regents Park offered people moving to the area, quiet living with a strong sense of community.
The first store was established on Farallone Avenue, in 1919.
The Fircrest Golf Club was incorporated in May of 1923. And stills serves the community to this day. And now has an upgraded 33,000 square foot clubhouse that was built in 1997.
On September 19,1925, Fircrest was finally incorporated. And like is neighbor, University Place, it is a middle-class suburb of Tacoma.

Fircrest is a small and close-knit community. Walking down the street you will feel the old town vibe and notice that it is very community orientated.
The Roy H. Murphy Community Center is where the community pool is located and is the central hub for all sports and community events. They offer classes and activities for all ages.
There is so much to do in Fircrest, but if you run out of activities, it is close to the hustle and bustle of Tacoma.
