Because Maplewood is within minutes of historic downtown Gig Harbor, there are lots of parks and trails for you to enjoy. Have a picnic lunch by the creek at City Park while the kids play on the new playground. There is plenty of room to run around. You can also play baseball, basketball, tennis, or ride your bike on the bmx trails. Take a walk into town and rent a kayak and explore the harbor from the water. Another great place to go is Sunrise Beach Park. Take a walk along the shore line and see views of Mt. Rainer, Vashon Island, and the Puget Sound. It is also a great place to scuba dive.
