Like the rest of Gig Harbor, Rosedale was a rich logging community. In fact, Rosedale Street; as well as Peacock Hill Avenue and Stinson Avenue; were originally drag roads due to them being downhill. As a result, that made them ideal for dragging logs straight into the harbor.
It is also within minutes of Harbor Montessori, Discovery Elementary, Harbor Ridge Middle School, Gig Harbor High, and Henderson Bay Alternative High School.
